Stop exposing your children to unwanted attention coz you so want to be 'LIKE'd'

I am tiered of friends and family and acquaintances posting pics of their ohh so adorable child, nephew, grandson or whatever.  Do you not realise this is just circulating your child's image to unsolicited views.  Where do these pictures end up? once they have been liked and shared to a group of people that you do not know.  Come on do you not see this.

I have never been one to ogle at babies in prams and coo in that oh so stupid voice reserved for a 'particular cute baby'.  face it they look cute coz they're small end of.  They all look much the same and at that stage not many of their features have come in anyhow.  Well I don't do it, it is annoying and most times it is disingenuous.

#211 I will not ‘LIKE’ your child

Why oh why is your child online?
there are pictures of mucky faces
pictures of child in cool places
pictures with a grin
pictures of every occasion
do you not read the papers?
online is where paedophiles
like to lime
they scan through school pictures
then hope and pray they see that child
so they can strike up a conversation
then it’s ‘do you want to go for a ride?’
then next minute they are on a news file
as we watch the parents pain
as we watch them cry
as they slowly lose their minds
do they not realise they gave their child on a plate
so next time you want to upload
think carefully
are you really that bold
that desperate for a ‘LIKE’
now I don’t do ‘ooh!’ and I don't do ‘ahhh!’
coz one child to me looks much the same
as long as they are healthy
don't care if they are wealthy
is it not your duty to keep them safe?
shouldn’t they get a chance to decide
when they go online

and have their face broadcast all over the place

My Enchanted life

I am embarking on a big venture, it is scary and exciting at the same time.  At every step of the way there has been masses of advise and good fortune.  From people I barely know.  It's wonderful.  I now have to decide who to listen to.  Do I just go along despite all this unsolicited advise or do I stop freeze and not go forward.

#210 Guidance From Within

I will listen to my inner voice
and what it has to say
some call it their conscious
either way it will make you rethink your day
all situations we find ourselves in
are predicted somewhere along the way
you just have to listen
to the people you meet
telling you part of the story
for you to complete
make sense of what they are saying
as it is never as you think
sometimes it is a dream
sometimes more straightforward
you just have to make the link
listen to that inner voice that says ‘don't go there!’
its not always obvious
I assure you
in time it will all be clear......

Speaking well of the dead

I never want to be that person who waits until someone has passed to start speaking well about them, or treating them nice

#206 big Talk

Big talk
after my passing
I do not want
say what you want to say
to my face
don't wait
till I  am gone
without a trace
furthermore
say nothing to me
say nothing of your feelings
show me by your actions
let it be apparent for all to see
let my heart be filled with your love
do not let me leave
until you are sure
I understand I am loved
evermore

Mornings don't really excite me

#207 Each Morning

Each morning
when I rise
I am grateful
that I am here
to see another day
I rise with anticipation
in awe of what the day may bring
I think of those who are not with us
reflect on what they may have done with this day
I hope I am not wasting my day
so I jump up
refusing to snooze any longer
I am grateful
for the opportunities
this day will bring
each morning

when I rise !

Helping others whilst helping yourself

whatever you do for someone is between you and that person.  Why do some people find it necessary to annouce all their good deeds, exposing that persons current predicament. which maybe they do not want broadcasted

Do we do things for others coz it makes us feel good or do we do things that just benefit the other person, because it is the right thing to do

#208 Noisy Workers

A midst this confusion
and the noise we accept
as a working city
the louder it is the more work is being done
how about those who go about silently
with no accalaid
that this noise brings
some need the noise to continue on
others work in silence
they say empty barrels make most noise
who shouts the loudest deserve to be listened to
how about those who speak quietly
move silently
is their work not valid
are they not counted
I know I would rather move silently
a midst the confusion

we accept to be a working city

Equality Overdue

Just watched 15 minutes of 'The March'.  I grabbed my remote pressed record that's all I could do.  I couldn't move I was transfixed to screen.  I've had heard about the march I have seen clips of the march.  I was astounded by the sheer volume of people there who were truly integrated, they showed a water fountain where you saw black and white people drinking from the same fountain. powerful.

Best thing I have seen on tv for a  long time.  totally inspiring.

prompted me to write this.

 #209 Equality Overdue

They owe me
they owe us all
for the equality
that is overdue
forced
to treat
me different from you
if I was taken on my merit
where will I be ?
what could I achieve ?
I will live her life
while she looks at me
5o years ago he had a dream
the dream is still not realised
I am sad to console
all those who were there
who marched
and walked
who made their voices clear
everyone had something to say
it is as if there never was that day
did it happen?
did it really occur?
all that they wanted
is still wanting
this is 50 years on
equality is still haunting

Britain 's Got Talent Watch out!

Music it is funny how each generation claims  current music as there own.  Much of it we have heard before.  I had a wonderful surreal moment in  my car. travelling with I suppose three generations, my daughter my neighbour and her son and my retired Italian neighbour.  I have selected an easy listening station to cater for all specifically my Italian neighbour .  At some point the tape deck (yes not a typo, an actual tape deck, in my 2002 car) kicks in and it is a cassette my elder daughter had made probably 10 years ago, with Ashanti do an acapella number ( some would say quite badly) the good thing is it gives us non singers a chance to have ago.  So in the middle of all the hubba-bubba in car I hear him attempting and reaching some of those high notes.  I am of course tickled pink, so I rewind it and now I insist we all join in.  Britain Got Talent Watch out!

#202 Young Music

I love young music
I love the vibe
I love the energy
it energises me
it makes me feel
alive
I jump around
like I was ten
when one track is finished
I am ready to go again
one day I will act my age
until  then
all I want to do is rave
