Technology has come a long way

#157 Hanging on the Line

Technology has moved on
At an alarming rate
Things we could only dream of
Are now available on a plate

With phones that predict what you are going to say
With apps you can monitor
When last you saw your friend

Is this the begin
Or is this the end
Of the simpler life
Do we all have to get on board

Or just be left behind
With a phone
With no minutes
Just hanging on the line

Prostate Cancer within the Black Community

I believe there is a link between Prostate Cancer and the types of jobs Black men do.

I have named it a cushy number as there are so much unemployment at the moment.  Having  a job just any job is considered good fortune

#159 A Cushy Number

He is banned from the office
So he is forced to drive
Drive and drop
Drive and drop
Navigating the city roads
He is efficient and slick

Drop and drive
Drop and drive
Drop and die

They say it is a cushy number
As he sits on his tushy
Stuck in traffic
Cannot park there

Come into reception
No further please
No your place no your sation

Drop and drive
Drop and drive
Drop and die

All this sitting around
Causes problem for any man
The statistics speak for themselve
Our black men
Are risking their health
As they chase the bills
To increase their wealth

Before long a cancer is born
Before long a cancer is formed
A trip to a clinic where you wait and wait
Encounter racist and their hate

Sit and wait in line
Not sure how long it will take
Have you not got the time
Come back another time

By time you come back it is too late
We are now talking about advanced prostates

How did this happen?
Is this a plan ? there is a pattern
How are we going to populate this planet
If our men are dropping like flies

I am not making this up
This is not lies
This is the situation
Amongst our guys

Superior Hair Quality

Right now I am wearing my hair in a afro.  I love the way it looks all unruly and when I touch it , it is soft, strong and thick.  It is in a healthy condition.  I have relaxed my hair in the past, or I should I say try and kill it by drying it out and drowning it in chemicals.   Anyhow it has forgiven me and recovered.  To the next experiment. Afro hair is so versatile I am certain there is not  style out there that cant be achieved.

I have noticed when I have my hair in  an Afro the general concess is that someone wants to touch it.  Now I regard my hair as being personal and private.  The area about your head is vital when it comes to channelling positive energy.

#160 My Nappy Hair

My hair is described as nappy
This makes me happy
It is also unruly
And cannot be tamed
Like the woman within
My independent brain

My hair is superior
Which naturally means other hair is inferiria
It is versatile
It can be combed in any style
It can be slicked back
If that’s where you think it is at

My hair doesn’t lay flat
If I locks it
It will climb happily down my back

My hair is happiest in afro
That’s what is unique you know
In the 70’s it was symbolic and right
My hair stands upright
Like it’s an antenna
Ready for a fight
Tracking for the next satellite

I remember the tears
As a child
Wanting to wear my hair wild
To avoid the comb which I would fear
Now I am in control
I comb it without tears

I recall sitting down
At my mothers feet
This time spent together
I now regard as a treat
Time spent alone;
With my mother my hair
And that wretched comb
